After attending the lesson on Sith Philosophy tonight, hosted by Apprentice Zhephra Aeros and Neophyte Khatatas Ronith, it became evident that many acolytes within this Powerbase have neglected their studies of the Sith Code. Either unable to form coherent comments on the individual lines of the code or simply sat quietly, hoping their inadequate knowledge would remain unnoticed.

A trained animal could say the code aloud, yet it could never form a deeper understanding of it. This is the difference between us and the things we seek to subjugate, yet many of my peers proved tonight that they believed simply knowing the words could qualify them as Sith. I write this report to correct that.

Spoiler: Author and the Code's History

The code was written by Sorzus Syn, one of the Jedi Exiles and a renowned Sith Alchemist. Contrary to what the other acolytes believed, she did not write the Sith Code as a simple inversion of the Jedi Code. She wrote it to highlight the inadequacies of their creed, to highlight their faults on a fundamental, to reveal why they were doomed to fail.

Qotsisajak was written as a set of beliefs that every Sith should strive to achieve, as eventually the code would lead to the creation of our next perfect being, the next Sith'Ari.

Spoiler: Peace is a Lie, there is only Passion

Passion is the driving force of every aspect of life, it extends far beyond simple war and politics to the very fundamental aspects of life itself.

At its most primal passion is the desire to survive, this alone breeds strength in many forms as can be seen in nature. yet passion is also the desire to thrive, this leads to sentient beings developing other traits; such as guile and cunning, to outmanoeuvre and thrive against their political opponents. To manipulate and reach the heights that so many covet.

In war, passion is far simpler, it is our source of strength in the force. This strength allows us to turn the force into our weapon, to drive forth our armies and to obliterate any who oppose us with the power of the Dark Side. passion is the cure to stagnation, the key to strength in all forms.

Spoiler: Through Strength, I gain Power

Strength is the ability to perform an act, or to attempt one. Only through challenge and strife can any being temper these strengths, these abilities, into power. Power is not only the ability to perform these actions, but to perform them so well that you can enforce your will upon others. This process of gaining power can only come through experience, through pitting yourself against your rivals in all theatres of conflict.

In politics you must refine your methods, nurture your cunning, only then can your tongue of lead become one of silver.

In war, the process is more obvious, it is where Sith are forged in fire and our warriors develop the ability to enact not only their will; but the will of our Emperor upon others.

Spoiler: Power and Powerbases

Power is the ability to assert your will, and your dominance, over others. Once you have attained power you have proven yourself to be stronger than others, at this point you can begin to subjugate those weaker beings and form your own Powerbase, this then creates more power and begins a cycle of growth.

This cycle will only be broken when someone more powerful either destroys or usurps your powerbase, thus proving themselves to have been more powerful.

Spoiler: Through Power, I gain Victory

Once you have proven yourself to be more powerful than others, to be able to enact your will over them, you will begin to achieve victory in each theatre of conflict you find yourself to be more powerful.

There are no half victories to true followers of the Sith Code, there is only total victory; this is where you have proven beyond all doubt that you are the superior being, that you are the most powerful.

Spoiler: Through Victory, my Chains are Broken

Once victory has been achieved you have proven yourself to be above others, to no longer possess the peers you once possessed. This is where you have already broken many of your chains, the most obvious being the chains that others have placed upon you.

For the acolytes reading this I shall give an example you can relate to, to ensure that you understand and the disgrace of that lesson is not repeated again. One such chain that all acolytes possess is the rank of acolyte, and the restrictions it brings with it, we are to either prove ourselves worthy of becoming Sith and break the chains of Acolytehood, or die trying.

Other chains are less simple, they can be your own personal restrictions that you place upon yourself, or hidden chains placed on you by others.

it is the goal of every Sith to break any and all chains you bear, as that is the only way that we can achieve perfection. Once nothing restricts you, there is nothing to prevent you from enacting your will, you have achieved perfection. You have proven yourself to be the next Sith'Ari.

Spoiler: The Force Shall Free Me.

Freedom is the pursuit of all Sith, freedom from the chains that would hold us back. The force is something that we bend to our will, yet it also bends us to its own. Only those who seek to achieve true perfection will be rewarded, will be set free, by the Force. Through the Sith Code we achieve a freedom that no other being, nor creed, could ever dream of achieving; this becomes most evident when compared to the Jedi. Their creed submits them to the force, it imprisons them and stunts their growth. As for Sith, our code drives us to embrace our passions and constantly evolve. And thus, the code forms a loop; a never ending loop of growth and evolution as we all grow stronger. This cycle of endless evolution will eventually lead to the birth of the being of prophecy.

It is my hope that my peers within this Powerbase read these texts, and learn from them. It is also my hope that these texts will remain long after I have left the ranks of acolyte, through whatever means; be it death or ascension, so that future generations do not repeat the failings of this one. As that is what Sith as a whole must do, we must evolve from the past, and never repeat the same failures. Only then will the Sith bring forth a new Golden Age.
