Operation: Brilliance Chained - Satisfaction

#7
Operation: Brilliance Chained - Satisfaction

Operation Team:
Apprentice Nivalis
Apprentice Ronith
Acolyte Lynn Xir
Acolyte Sah'sha

Report:

At the start of the mission, it was debated if we should go in disguise to broker the recruitment. It was decided against and we would go as we were, as this was a neutral system and there was the opportunity to present the Empire as a civilised society that it is to the engineers and populous with the intent to be diplomatic and clean.

Upon arrival, we ran into a group at the gate of the settlement for the shipyard. They questioned who we were and were confrontational to our arrival. After a brief back and forth they reacted negatively to a demonstration with the force made by some in the group and attempted to close the gates on our group. Apprentice Nivalis then killed the leader of the pack at the gate of probable gangster aligned 'workers' and blasters were quickly drawn. What followed was wild firing erupted from the fleeing group as we managed to get inside.

The settlement, to put it bluntly, was plunged into chaos. Attempts to calm citizens and workers alike were met with fear and distrust. Gaining good will with the general populous was lost.

Thus, we quickly proceeded to the main hall while we still had the chance. I managed to convince the shipyard's manager, Mr Ghut, to an audience with us under assurances for his life, offers for mutual benefit and for our leave to be swift after the talk.

After some back and forth with me, the terrified man eventually met with us but not without 'associates' being present. These were definitely gang members as what happened at the gate was already travelling fast and their anger and fear was palpable in them, along with their armaments.

After some more negotiation, I managed to convince the opposing party to allow myself to be broadcast to their engineers and workers. This was to quickly get control of the narrative to the those we desired to recruit, reframe what happened at the gate into our favour as much as possible and propose an offer to ensure their recruitment that played against the gang's objectives. The 'associates' attempted to attack our group after the broadcast, enraged as what was exposed to their workings and the much better offer I gave the protesting engineers in wages, security and their limitless potential under the Empire. They were swiftly dealt with. I ensured Mr Ghut gave over the necessary contracts for recruitment and we, with a decent sum of engineers, made our leave.

In short:
I would say the operation is a partial success.

We managed to convince and gather the necessary amount of engineers and their families into Imperial recruitment and the gang making the extorsion were dealt a serious blow. But the diplomatic damage based on the execution of the latter objective is not one easily to be forgotten by the neutral system and it won't do us any favours in the future, that goes without saying of the potential additional manpower we likely lost out on.

Ongoing Crisis
The Republic Marches amongst lit fires!

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

After the Republic liberated Pollus from Imperial influence, Anx Minor was devastated by I.T.E.C.’s nuclear mining and lingering Sith presence, while the Kesmere Ridge remained largely intact, enabling the Republic to steadily infiltrate and influence its powerful corporate systems. On Tertiary Kesmere—the largest hub—three megacorporations dominated: Oriyn Prospecting discovered resources, Kessdyne Resource Group extracted and profited from the capital Vethar’s Reach and its Ciivic Council, and Haeltor Maritime handled off-world transport. Beneath the façade of economic growth, however, The Republic secretly aimed to turn Tertiary Kesmere into a strategic launch point for operations in the Northern Territories. Contacted by Moff Vayen Korr, the Marshalling Prefect of the Northern Territories, the Pentarchy of House Horuset took on the job of delaying the Republic's actions. With preperations laid it culminated in a strike planetside lasting only two weeks to ignite anarchy. Acting covertly to sabotage Republic progress, they destabilized the region, leaving chaos in their wake as corporations collapsed under their own deception and local anti-corporate guilds rose up—unaware of the Empire’s hidden hand behind the unrest...

((OOC: Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state will determine how strong the Republic will be in given areas area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
