[IC] A'tul's Holo-Diary (Not Available IC)

#8
Entry 8: Testament

The holocom would flicker to life, revealing the immediate expression of the far corrupted Echani, his eyes beaming a near crimson, hue of reddish purple shrouded around his eyes and his lips, making him almost look frail. His expression was stoic, devoid of any physical expression of emotion as he gazed into the very soul of the viewer. His lips parted, a short exhale trailed outwards in the brief contemplation that he took before speaking.

"Log Eight. I have managed to get this far, in so little time... But time is something I lack in response to the creation of these self reflecting holo-projected conversations. I never did consider who might view this when my time is done, or whether I would even have the audacity to release it to my future kin, or powerbase. But here I am... Sith A'tul Kelsa, second alien on the Conservancy of House Horuset, Provisional Envoy of Resurgence, Sith Logistician. I am a threat to all within the powerbase, and that much is gradually showing. They fear me... They fear what I have become. What I -will- become. What I do to them... It is inevitable now, as my mother foretold."

His attention diverted from the projection for a moment, almost as if he trailed off to a window to look upon the distant stars, or views. There no clear image to what exactly he was looking at, but he did so with a great deal of inquisitiveness and calculative reflection. His hands were very clearly perched behind his back beneath a cape wrapped over his shoulders, revealing naught of their intention. He allowed a short inhale to pass into his mouth in this brief pause before continuing to speak again in his cold, Imperialistic tone.

"My advice, for the audience who would see this recording is simply this... Do what must be done. Do not hold back in your dedication for a cause. Even with all the petty squabbling, or miss-directed passion, continue out on the set goal, and you shall receive in due time. For I was once told that time... Time will tell."

He glances back to the recording device with a sense of pride in his expression to match his words, words that he stood by since the dawn of his journey as Sith, perhaps. His head tilted to the left, almost inquisitive about the fact that he was either speaking to an inanimate object, or to the person that he had become.

"House Kelsa remains a powerhouse within the sphere of the Horuset Powerbase, with Lord Iezkon, my wife, still at its helm. We strive for the perfection of our service of the Dark Lord, Darth Horuset, and in turn for the Empire. For what else is more imperative than the notion of the Empires victory against the Republic? But some-time I often reflect the usefulness of those I have chosen to keep beside me... It is why I establish plans. Counter-measures. Measures should those also fail. It is hard to trust those with ambition enough to see your plans utilized into their own. Or those who would see your very soul killed in the process of their intended goals."

His gaze did narrow at his own words, reflecting on the actions taken by specific individuals, but there was no indication on who he referred to, or the emotions he was feeling towards it.

"I am beyond that now. I am beyond the squabbles of these pests, leaching themselves to so called 'leaders' who are as indecisive as the last fools before them. There is a certain niche to follow, for no other reason but to follow the niche, like a hive mind, devoid of truth and consideration. I like these cattle, they fall so easily under the political prowess of those who actually think for themselves. They make me feel... Superior."

The man couldn't help but smile -ever so slightly- to himself, almost a flicker of a smile at the comment he made, an overwhelming sense of security, or superiority to those he was referring to once again.

"Lord Kalkoran is a man to be inspired by. A man who's family name is a scar on the Empire, two families, two different reasons. Yet... He prevailed. Often those who are suppressed into the deepest and darkest depth, by the most inspirational Sith often do become fabled. Needless do people know, the more pressure placed onto a Sith to become great, the greater they become. Not coddled, Lord Kalkoran forged his own destiny, his own strength... Now. Now he has every right to be unchallenged. Darth Horuset, her history remains an enigma to me, but from what history I know of her father, she did not have the easy option to her position. But surely, unlike Lord Kalkoran, her name was a boon to her inevitable ascension. Not all have that luxury..."

"But, evaluations aside. I reflect on my own destiny, my own way forward. I often reflect on the boy that was before, so madly in love, so madly attuned to family. I almost miss him... I almost envy the feelings of warmth, comfort and longing for the care of others. I often reflect on my love, Kaer. My child, Haiyca Kelsa. Perhaps deep down, I do all that I do for them... That the future I develop for House Kelsa would be their future, a strong and prosperous future within the Empire. That it is become of this complicated love we have forged with each-other. Deep down I hope that is why I do what I do, kill who I kill."

He rolls his shoulders and raises his chin slightly, his smile was gone, his eyes grew darkened by the angle presented by his gaze, they narrowed and his lips grew thin. The very look of his expression was of darkness that had claimed the boy before, claimed the Echani in all his physical form.

"But there is one certainty... I do this for myself."

He glances sideways again to the very thing that he was gazing onto before, as if that was now the target of his contemplation once again. But not only that, it became the very target of his next words.

"Fire."

The holocom shuts off with a subtle flicker at that, and anything beyond his final words too became a mystery to the viewer.

Ongoing Crisis
The Republic Marches amongst lit fires!

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

After the Republic liberated Pollus from Imperial influence, Anx Minor was devastated by I.T.E.C.’s nuclear mining and lingering Sith presence, while the Kesmere Ridge remained largely intact, enabling the Republic to steadily infiltrate and influence its powerful corporate systems. On Tertiary Kesmere—the largest hub—three megacorporations dominated: Oriyn Prospecting discovered resources, Kessdyne Resource Group extracted and profited from the capital Vethar’s Reach and its Ciivic Council, and Haeltor Maritime handled off-world transport. Beneath the façade of economic growth, however, The Republic secretly aimed to turn Tertiary Kesmere into a strategic launch point for operations in the Northern Territories. Contacted by Moff Vayen Korr, the Marshalling Prefect of the Northern Territories, the Pentarchy of House Horuset took on the job of delaying the Republic's actions. With preperations laid it culminated in a strike planetside lasting only two weeks to ignite anarchy. Acting covertly to sabotage Republic progress, they destabilized the region, leaving chaos in their wake as corporations collapsed under their own deception and local anti-corporate guilds rose up—unaware of the Empire’s hidden hand behind the unrest...

((OOC: Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state will determine how strong the Republic will be in given areas area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
