[IC] Laura's Holo Diary

#1
Entry One: Change of Pace

*The Holocom was entirely voice based, there was no display of the character before it's audio. However the audio continued either way and the soft voice lingered upon it's arrival.*

"Change is never something I will get used to... Never has. The Jedi taught me limitations through the force, asked me to prolong to a certain standard declared by my master. A standard that was bound to fail as it always does, the Jedi encourage weakness though passiveness - It is why they will be destroyed whilst the Sith will prosper. I see this now.
My name is Laura Gwyndrell, and I am a Mirialan. But now I am no longer considered Jedi, nor will I ever be considered such ever again. I will be Sith, and my determination to reach such a goal is guided by my new code of the Sith. Where there are no more passive limitations, where I can enhance myself in new ways without being fearful of my duty. But the steps are always going to be slow, and they are always going to be hard on you. I learnt this immediately as I arrived within the Horuset Powerbase. An alien who was ex-Jedi is some-one who is shunned, spat at, kicked and broken both physically and mentally. But only the weak give in to the torment, which I am not.
I displayed my strength almost immediately when the trial of the Acolytes started anew, a trial based on the manipulation of beasts. Or so I had thought. The Beastmaster even took it into his hands to provide us a lesson suited for this trial, but once displayed in the trial itself it proved quite futile, which is a shame. The Acolytes were divided into three separate teams, and I was paired with two humans and two Purebloods. Typical.
To my surprise they all seemed quite passive about my hand in the team, so I delegated a leader to show my eagerness to follow a apparently true Sith blood. Then I decided the plan among my peers to utilize the surroundings against the beasts, but we were deceived for we had believed that there would be only one beast. But I still have created a plan for the latter. Unfortunately due to the weakness of the peers around me, and the smart behavior of the beasts we were up again, we were unable to finish them off.

*Laura sighed deeply and tapped at something which offered a metallic ring throughout the holocoms audio for a few moments, though it was clear that she was in contemplation.*

I was disappointed to say the least, and I think the Beastmaster himself saw how disappointed I was when I tried to finish off the Nexu. He pulled me away like I was a rag doll, he's quite powerful. But also there was the person who scared me more than most, the one who broke me mercilessly and tirelessly throughout the course of my interrogation on the ship I was on, along side my master and my rivaling 'padawan'. I wont lie, but he scared the living force out of me - I feel as if he will turn around one day and just snap me like a toothpick. But a topic for another time.
The trial ended, and we returned. The results of it were up almost instantly after and it was then that my team mates realized that I was an ex-Jedi. They were disappointed, and they certainly did not want to stomach my company any further. But at the end of the day, I was considered successful in my first ever trial. I was prideful, I still am. But there is no time to gloat, to feed from pride. It is time to get to work on bettering myself above all others.

*The holocom's audio came to a swift end as Laura stated such.*

Ongoing Crisis
The Republic Marches amongst lit fires!

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

After the Republic liberated Pollus from Imperial influence, Anx Minor was devastated by I.T.E.C.’s nuclear mining and lingering Sith presence, while the Kesmere Ridge remained largely intact, enabling the Republic to steadily infiltrate and influence its powerful corporate systems. On Tertiary Kesmere—the largest hub—three megacorporations dominated: Oriyn Prospecting discovered resources, Kessdyne Resource Group extracted and profited from the capital Vethar’s Reach and its Ciivic Council, and Haeltor Maritime handled off-world transport. Beneath the façade of economic growth, however, The Republic secretly aimed to turn Tertiary Kesmere into a strategic launch point for operations in the Northern Territories. Contacted by Moff Vayen Korr, the Marshalling Prefect of the Northern Territories, the Pentarchy of House Horuset took on the job of delaying the Republic's actions. With preperations laid it culminated in a strike planetside lasting only two weeks to ignite anarchy. Acting covertly to sabotage Republic progress, they destabilized the region, leaving chaos in their wake as corporations collapsed under their own deception and local anti-corporate guilds rose up—unaware of the Empire’s hidden hand behind the unrest...

((OOC: Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state will determine how strong the Republic will be in given areas area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
